Make the season extra merry and bright by kicking off the holidays at the Tucson Museum of Art. Check out this month’s Second SundAZe: Family Day featuring a partnership with Ballet Tucson for a Nutcracker inspired story time and class. In addition, enjoy a performance by The Arizona Women’s Chorus, family yoga, a visit from Santa, and the opportunity to explore the museum’s galleries. Attendees will also receive an exclusive discount code for Ballet Tucson’s The Nutcracker in partnership with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra from December 21-23, 2023, at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall. • Art activities will be extended to one hour in Mooney Hall from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
• The Sugar Plum Fairy from Ballet Tucson’s The Nutcracker will be at the museum to share some special holiday magic. Children of all ages are invited to join her Nutcracker ballet class and to hear the enchanting story of The Nutcracker, 11 a.m.-12pm.
• Ballet-themed arts and crafts will also be available in Mooney Hall from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
• Family Yoga in partnership with Yoga Oasis in Mooney Hall from 12 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. • The Arizona Women’s Chorus will be performing an eclectic mix of traditional and non-traditional songs from around the world that will highlight the joy and wonder of the holiday season in the galleries from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
• Get your photos with Santa in the museum’s galleries (will be taken in front of Popol Vuh). The museum will provide Intax instant photos and will give you the opportunity to take your own pictures on your own devices in the Kasser Family Wing, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
